Jessica Simpson is "head over heels" in love with new beau John Mayer,
according to US reports.
The Texas-born songbird has hit it off with fellow singer-songwriter
Mayer, it has been claimed.
"She's head over heels," an insider told
People magazine. "She's telling friends 'I'm in love."
And it would appear the rumoured relationship has the blessing of
Simpson's dad Joe.
"I love John Mayer," Joe, who is Jessica's manager, told the magazine.
"I love his music, I love his talent.
"The last time he was at the House of Blues in L.A, I went by myself
to see him play.
"If my daughter's happy, then I'm happy.
"And if she finds love, then I'm in love with the fact that she finds
happiness.
"It's been a tough year for her. A lot of disappointment.
"And my greatest joy as a father is to see my baby happy."
Jessica and Joe reportedly slipped into a Mayer concert on Wednesday
night, coming in halfway through the gig.
They took seats next to the sound crew and watched from the side of
the stage.
"Mayer turned to Jessica in the middle of a song and smiled and sang
to her," an insider told
People.
Simpson and Mayer first met when she was still married to Nick Lachey.
But after her November 2005 separation they bumped into each other
again in June at a Manhattan restaurant.
