Prince Andrew turned up at Courtney Love's house in the early hours of the morning looking to party, the rock chick has claimed.

Speaking during a TV interview, Love said she opened the door to the Royal in her slippers and dressing gown when he called round unexpectedly and came in for a cuppa.

She said: "Prince Andrew turns up at my house at one in the morning and he wants to party.

"He'd come to Hollywood to look for chicks. I don't know what he expected at my house. I think he thought it was going to be like a party. I had these little bunny slippers on and my fluffy robe.

"I answered the door and he was there with a bodyguard. At one point he did ask me on the couch - I've never told this to anyone - he said 'so what do you do all day'?"

Love, 42, who was speaking on Russell Brand's Channel 4 show, said she made the prince a cup of tea and even has a photo of the royal drinking a brew with her.

Love, who was rumoured to have bedded Brand earlier this year, donned a wig and pretended to be Prince Andrew's mum on the show.

Dressed as the Queen she teamed up with Brand for a mock sketch of James Bond's On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

And Love, who is a big fan of British comedy and culture, lifted her gown and gyrated on Brand's lap in sexy underwear.

She also admitted on the show that she used to shoot up before a gig to relax. And she revealed the benefits of growing up around drag queens.

She said: "They were women and they teach you manners and gestures and fabulousness. And how to put on your makeup."

Love has just released a book, Dirty Blonde, which is a collection of memoirs.

She said: "I've kept journals of every single thing, every single person I've ever slept with."

She also admitted that she's always turned down offers to appear in Playboy because it's "cheesy".

And she said that she went out of her way to do the exact opposite to Madonna for years.

"There's a hotel that I really love and now stay at that I didn't stay at for years and years because Madonna stayed there," she said.

"It's not that I don't like Madonna because we actually do kind of get along all right but if Madonna did it I wouldn't do it.

"We had a big yoga battle. She won by the way."
