Jana Pittman has given birth to her first child, a baby boy named Cornelis.
The track star gave birth this morning, National Nine News has reported.
Today's birth caps off a stellar year for the 24-year-old: gold at the Commonwealth Games in March, marriage three months later and now a son.
Aiming for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Pittman continued to train up until the end of her pregnancy, guided by coach, husband, and new father Chris Rawlinson.
"I don't see any problem in my return to track whatsoever, it's just a matter of how well I can do in the actual championships themselves," Pittman said earlier this month.
"To me family is a very important thing and the next opportunity I'll have to have a child will be after the London Olympics, so I've got to be realistic," she said.
