Scarlett Johansson has hit out at the media's "crazy feeding frenzy" surrounding her relationship with Justin Timberlake.
"We have a lot of friends in common, and Justin's a sweetheart. It's always good to see him, but there's a lot of speculation and I try not to read that stuff," Johansson said yesterday as she walked the Grammys red carpet.
"I think when two people are single and are seen together, it's immediately like a crazy feeding frenzy."
Johansson, who appears in several steamy scenes in Timberlake’s new music video
What Goes Around (Comes Around), reportedly got together with JT during the Super Bowl weekend in early February.
"They spent the whole weekend together," an insider told
In Touch Weekly.
"At a Super Bowl after party they were dancing and whispering in each other's ears," the insider said. "They were having a really good time together."
Timberlake was supposed to perform at the Clive Davis pre-Grammys party at the weekend, but had to cancel after he reportedly became ill.
"Justin is sick," Davis told the crowd. "He is at home with a 39.4C temperature."
The
New York Post reports that one member of the audience then replied: "He didn't look so sick to me when he was out partying at five this morning."
Smokey Robinson filled in Timberlake's vacant spot on stage, singing
My Girl.
