Troubled pop princess Britney Spears is rumoured to be dating a new man
— a 6'8" basketball player.
According to US reports, the 25-year-old singer
has hooked up with Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton.
Britney, who split from hubby Kevin Federline last year, has been
photographed attending a string of basketball games since leaving rehab.
On Easter Sunday she showed up at the Lakers v Phoenix Suns match at the Staples Center in LA.
Pictures showed Spears looking fresh-faced and skinny, prompting tabloid gossip suggesting the starlet had undergone liposuction.
Walton, who towers more than a foot taller than the mother-of-two, is
the son of former NBA great Bill Walton.
He joined the Lakers in 2003 and has been with the team for the whole of
his NBA career.
The 27-year-old sportsman is a crowd favourite at games, with fans
screaming "Luuuuuke" when he touches the ball for the first time — and
the "Throne Room/End Credit" music from Star Wars blasting out whenever
he scores.
Britney was recently snapped sporting a number 24 Kobe Bryant jersey —
Walton's teammate.
But rumour has it this was merely a ploy to throw journos off the scent
of her supposed romance with Walton.
Britney split from rapper K-Fed in November last year and filed for
divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.
The couple, who have two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, wed in
October 2004.
Since their split, the Baby One More Time star has enjoyed a brief
romance with model Isaac Cohen, before reportedly hooking up with music
producer Jonathan Rotem.
But in February this year, after a pattern of odd behaviour including
shaving her head, she entered rehab for 28 days.
Britney's divorce from Federline was finally settled at the end of last
month, with the rapper getting a $1 million cheque and joint custody of
their boys.
He celebrated the outcome in Las Vegas over Easter weekend, partying
away at JET night club and Stacks steak house at the Mirage Hotel and
Casino.
