Sarah Jessica Parker says her four-year-old son is full of awkward
questions about being gay.
The Sex and The City star told how toddler James Wilkie has schoolmates
with same sex parents.
And she says she and actor hubby Matthew Broderick have had to sit down
with the boy to explain it.
She said: "He goes to school with a lot of kids who have different
families from his, so he'll be like, 'Jen has two mommas' or 'Charlie
has two poppas.'
"And so we've been talking about what it is to be gay; I want him to
understand it in terms that aren't overwhelming to him. But he asks
about everything. Death is a very big conversation piece."
She added: "Actually, the things that are far more complicated for me
to answer are any kind of science questions. He has a really keen
interest in science. I have basic fundamental knowledge but I don't
know what he's going to do about homework. I'm glad my husband's
smart about that sort of thing."
Parker, 42, is set to launch her new cut-price fashion line, Bitten,
in the US on June 7.
The actress, who found global fame as fashion-mad Carrie Bradshaw on
TV show Sex and The City, says everyone should have access to good-
value clothes.
She told US website People.com: "I am acutely aware of what it means
to not have the things you need, let alone the things you want. And
you should be able to have affordable, quality fashion.
"I tend to be someone who splurges on shoes. I know a lot of people
splurge on decorative jackets, but I don't because I don't look good
in them. I've got too much hair, and I don't know how to pull it up
myself to get it out of the way of the jacket."
Parker wed Broderick, 45, in May 2007, five years after they met.
