A mother of four has become the 14th woman to develop breast cancer after working at the ABC's Brisbane TV studio.

Angela Eckersley worked on the Toowong site for about seven years as a director's assistant before leaving two years ago, and worked from the same desk as many of those diagnosed with the disease.

A statement released by the Eckersley family said they were "shocked and distressed" by the disease, but they remained positive and appreciated the support of families and friends.

"Unfortunately (this diagnosis) serves as a reminder that the ABC's breast cancer issue is not over," the statement read. "We urge all female employees who worked at the ABC Toowong site, both past and present, not to become complacent and to remain vigilant about their health checks."

The studios were evacuated in December last year when it became clear the site had a cancer rate 11 times higher than the national workplace average.

The ABC announced a national investigation into the incidence of breast cancer in all its worksites, but an expert panel could not detect the cause of the 'cancer cluster'.
