The Chaser team has caught the attention of police yet again, and may face charges over a stunt involving a ticking "time bomb" delivered to an office.
The gag, which was designed to test if security had been lowered in Sydney since APEC, saw member Craig Reucassel posing as a courier to see if offices would sign for increasingly ridiculous deliveries.
One package is a loudly ticking bag, which causes the woman at reception to laugh nervously before questioning the package.
"Has it been ticking a long time?" she asks, before signing the delivery form.
Other bizarre deliveries included a live sheep, a snake, an infant child and a "corpse" in a body bag.
But it is the pretend explosive that may land the comedians in hot water.
Leaving or sending an article with intent to cause alarm is a crime and can result in up to five years' jail.
Chaser members initially played the bomb joke on the head offices of Sydney Water and Energy, but security escorted them from the premises.
The power company reported the incident to police.
Chaser producers were hosing down the incident. "The Chaser chose the loudest and most deliberately comical ticking to ensure the people involved in the filming could not think there was any real threat," a spokesperson said.
Eleven cast and crew members are still awaiting charges following a fake motorcade that they drove into APEC's security zone last month.
