British actress Keira Knightley's green gown in her latest flick Atonement has nabbed the title of the best film costume of all time in a poll.
In the survey by Sky Movies and In Style magazine Knightley's floor draping stunner beat Marilyn Monroe's famous white dress from The Seven Year Itch.
Director of Sky Movies Ian Lewis told MSN UK it would be interesting to see whether Knightley's dress maintains its iconic status in years to come.
"There's no doubt Keira Knightley's dress in Atonement created a massive stir this year…," he said.
The dress was worn by Cecilia Tallis, Knightley's character, during a critical scene in the movie which has been nominated for seven Golden Globes.
Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's came third followed by the skin tight pants of Olivia Newton John in Grease and Kate Winslet's blue gown from Titanic.
Knightley's stylish appearance in the film seems to have also helped her land the title of Women's beauty icon of 2007 , according to The Press Association.
In the British pharmacy chain Superdrug's poll, Knightley topped the likes of Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and TV presenter Kelly Brook.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star's slight body size and image has sparked much tabloid debate in the past forcing her to publicly deny anorexia rumours.
