Scarlett Johansson 'to get engaged'

Scarlett Johansson is set to get engaged to her actor boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, according to rumours that are sweeping Hollywood circles.

Johansson is close to an announcement, despite her rep's denial of the rumours, the New York Daily News reports.

The 23-year-old star of Match Point has been dating Van Wilder star Reynolds, 31, for almost a year.

The two were first spotted together at a Manhattan theatre in April last year, shortly after Reynolds split with fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.

Johansson was previously linked to her Black Dahlia co-star Josh Hartnett.

Last week rocker Courtney Love asked Johansson to play her in a film biopic, which will focus on the life of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, Love's ex-husband.
