Shocking newly released photos show rocker Pete Doherty in the middle of a passionate kiss with another male.

The photo on celebrity gossip site Perez Hilton shows Doherty on a bed with another musician whose first name is Wolf.

Taken sometime in 2007, Doherty is seen holding a cigarette in one hand while the other male kisses Doherty's lips and neck.

Perez Hilton told ninemsn that the photos were sent to him by a reader and that he's quite certain the embrace is authentic.

Asked whether he thinks Pete Doherty might actually be bi or gay, Perez responded "definitely gay!"

"Plus, drugs make you 'extra friendly'."

Perez also added that he hopes things went a lot further than just a kiss.

Doherty was recently in the media spotlight when he announced that he was planning on opening his own animal sanctuary after rescuing a one-legged hedgehog.

When ninemsn asked Perez Hilton whether these photos added another 'weird' component to the Pete Doherty story, Hilton replied 'totally!'

"I don't wanna know what he does with his cats!" the gossip columnist added.
