Britney Spears' home was robbed over the weekend, with reports suggesting that sex tapes were stolen from the premises.

Los Angeles police have questioned the singer's manager and long-time friend, Sam Lufti, according to New York Post.

Lufti became embroiled in an argument with Spears last week, just days before she was admitted to UCLA Medical Center.

He has had no contact with the troubled starlet since her father became conservator of her $A138 million estate on Friday.

Spears' parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, discovered several "personal items" had been stolen from their daughter's Beverley Hills mansion on Friday night.

Police responded to a call originating from Britney’s house, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed.

"The report is being processed through our system. We do not have access to it."

They could not confirm Lufti was questioned, but said "no one has been ruled out as a suspect, and this is an ongoing investigation."

The judge who granted Jamie Spears conservatorship over his daughter also issued a 21-day restraining order on Lutfi, according to reports.

Last month there were reports that the 26-year-old pop star was featured on a sex tape with two women and a man while consuming cocaine and marijuana.

However, the footage was never made public.

Meanwhile, Spears will spend an additional 14 days at the neuropsychiatric hospital, after her psychiatrist decided she wasn't well enough to leave.
