Emergency services rushed to Heather Locklear's California mansion over the weekend after her psychiatrist sounded a suicide alarm.
Fox News reports the Los Angeles Fire Department and two ambulances responded to a call from a "concerned citizen" on Saturday night.
But they arrived to find the Melrose Place actress was not in any danger and there was no suspicious activity at the property west of Los Angeles.
The fire department said they were convinced the report did not come from a malicious caller.
"I spoke with Heather and she is fine — she never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call," a spokesperson from the county sheriff's office said.
Law enforcement sources said the call came from the actress's psychiatrist, according to celebrity website TMZ.
The psychiatrist was alarmed because she was "upset and believed she might OD on medication prescribed for depression", the website reported.
Locklear, 46, split from her second husband Richie Sambora in 2005: they have a 10-year-old daughter.
Soon after their split, Sambora was seen dating Locklear's friend Denise Richards.
Locklear is currently dating Bold and the Beautiful star Jack Wagner.
