A woman who claimed she was raped in a video posted on YouTube has been arrested on the suspicion of underage sex and perverting the course of justice.
The woman had said in February that she was gang-raped by three teenage boys two aged 16 and one 14 who were arrested but later released, British newspaper The Sun reports.
A spokesperson for the Scotland Yard said the woman, 24, was arrested on March 24 and released on bail until May in relation to the alleged rape last year.
The case gained notoriety after video sharing website YouTube came under fire for not quickly removing the video which had been viewed 600 times.
The news of the woman's arrest came shortly after Google, who owns YouTube, admitted its staff made a mistake in not promptly removing the video.
The three-minute mobile phone film reportedly showed an unconscious mother being sexually assaulted after her drink was spiked.
Children could be heard crying in the background.
The video caused an outrage in the UK with MPs demanding that YouTube implement a stricter control of videos posted on the web.
Google lawyer Kent Walker said generally unsuitable material was removed from the site within the hour and denied the Internet giant was avoiding a "vetting process" to save money.
"It's not a price for us I would be concerned about but a price for the user," he said.
