Channel Seven is under fire for allegedly demanding $130,000 to cover a cancer charity walk on breakfast television.
The network was scheduled to send reporter Monique Wright on the 21-day trek which covers a stretch of the Great Wall of China for the Sunrise program.
The 'Great Walk to Beijing' is raising money for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre and will feature celebrities including Dannii Minogue and Ian Thorpe.
But when the charity refused to cover Channel Seven's production costs of $130,000, the plan was dropped, News.com.au reports.
Wright had already been listed on the Walk's website as a celebrity participant and had been sponsored by at least nine people.
Event organisers are reportedly angered by Channel Seven's demands, believing a charity should not be paying money to a television station.
No one on Sunrise has mentioned the cancellation on air.
The program has been blasted in the past by attempting to film a mock ANZAC Day dawn service and organising Sunrise branded shirts for people walking the Kokoda Track.
