Madonna is reportedly set to adopt a child from India after abandoning her plans to bring home a baby from Africa because of all the "red tape".
The two-year effort it took to adopt Malawian son David Banda was "very stressful" and now the material girl has her sights on India after a New Year's holiday, British newspaper The Sun reports.
A source said husband Guy Richie has agreed to the idea of the adoption after a series of fights.
The couple met Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar on their January holiday and he said they discussed how many children in India needed homes.
"Madonna was very taken with Sandip. He told her there were orphans who would melt her heart," an insider said of Soparrkar who has adopted a baby.
"Guy was against the idea, but when she wants something, she gets it."
Madonna will reportedly go to the sub-continent to choose a baby after promoting her new album.
Richie is reportedly not keen on adoption after his mother who had been adopted had a bad experience.
The pair already have son Rocco, 7, and Madonna has daughter Lourdes, 11, from a previous relationship.
