Camden Smith arrived in Darwin from Melbourne in 1999. After five years covering politics with the local paper, he crossed to National Nine News in 2004.
He has reported in detail on the agonised death throes of the Country Liberal Party's 23 year stranglehold on Territory politics, Clare Martin's six years as Chief Minister and Paul Henderson's elevation to the top job at the end of 2007.
He has also covered two Federal elections, the East Timorese presidential poll and John Howard and Mal Brough's dramatic takeover of Aboriginal affairs from the Territory Government.
During a career spanning more than 20 years, Camden has worked for such titles as Melbourne's The Herald, The South Wales Echo, The Truth and World magazine.
He was born in Mt Beauty, Victoria in April 1966 and lives in Nightcliff with partner Anita, son Charlie and daughter Gabriella.
