Fans push for Goldman to become BB host

Kyle Sandilands might not want to chuck any more sickies in light of the widespread support Mike Goldman received when he hosted Big Brother last night.

Critics and fans alike have praised the substitute presenter's effort, with Big Brother forums and polls confirming their preference for the show’s narrator in a presenting role over Sandilands.

In an online poll on the forum Behind Big Brother, more than 70 percent of voters said they preferred the Goldman and Jackie O pairing to host eviction night over the regular combination.

Former Big Brother contestant Tim Brunero said Goldman did an excellent job and brought warmth and softness to the show.

"He treated people like he really loved and valued them," he said.

"You could just tell by his interaction with the audience what a great people person he is."

"My mum called me to say how great she thought Mike was."

Brunero said long-term fans have a lot of affection for Goldman, who has been with the show for eight years.

"He is the voice of Big Brother in many ways — he's an absolute expert," he said.

Critics have even backed the Jackie O-Goldman duo by saying the chemistry between the pair got "a lot out of the housemates".

"He (Goldman) even has chemistry with Jackie O, an occurrence so rare that it’s actually been rated a scientific impossibility!" television blog site TV Junior said.

Fans have been posting pro-Goldman comments on a thread titled "the best eviction show this year with no Kyle" on the show's official website.

"I really enjoyed tonight's show without Kyle there insulting the audience and the housemates," charliesfather said.

‘Marsoups’ praised Goldman's ease as host, saying: "Mikey is quick witted and you're not listening to the sounds of crickets after Kyle's comments ... so inappropriate to choose Kyle to host, what where the producers thinking?"

Goldman said on his blog on the Courier Mail that "King Kyle" was a lucky man to get to work with Jackie O.

"I have to say that I had an absolute ball hosting the show with Jackie O," he said.
