Pop duo The Veronicas have been trying hard to bust into US charts, but it is Jess Origliasso's sexuality that has gained the attention of Tinseltown.
Intimate snaps of Origliasso getting cosy with MTV host Ruby Rose have finally got The Veronicas press coverage among the influential gossip bloggers of LA.
"They're like the Australian LezLo and saMANtha," wrote Perez Hilton, referring to the lesbian romance of Lindsay Lohan and DJ Samantha Ronson.
The shots of Origliasso and Rose, taken in Sydney, show the pair in separate locations holding hands and snuggling up to each other.
The pictures sparked a flurry of interest from readers, with some leaving messages on Perez's site questioning whether the intimacy was genuine.
"Open your eyes Perez," wrote Ozbab.
"The Veronicas bombed ass in America. This is a pure publicity stunt to get more American interest. Both are total press addicts."
Another wrote: "This reeks of a convenient PR push for both of them."
But a source told ninemsn the pair weren't shy about their affections at a Sydney nightspot recently.
"I was leaning against the bar sipping my drink when someone knocked me firmly in the back," the source said.
"It was Ruby Rose and Jess. I was shocked. I thought they would stop kissing then, but they just kept going for it.
"I guess discretion isn't big in their books."
Melbourne-born Rose fought off thousands of applicants in 2000 to score a plum hosting gig on the Australian MTV channel.
She and Origliasso recently joined forces to promote shoe brand Dr Martens.
