Sensational nude pictures of The Veronicas singer Jess Origliasso were sold to an Australian photo agency just days before they appeared on a US porn site, according to a report.

An unnamed Australian man flogged four pictures of the pop singer to photo agency Big Australia last week, the Daily Telegraph reports.

The pictures, posted on US adult website fleshbot.com, were thought to have been taken on a mobile phone three years ago.

It is not known how much the photo agency paid for the shots, but fleshbot.com said it had acquired them for a "minimal amount".

The story was first reported on ninemsn's The Fix two days ago.

Origliasso has since thanked fans for posting messages of support on her web forum, but did not go into whether all of the purported shots of her were genuine.

"You are all seriously the best support team,'' Origliasso wrote.

The Veronicas record label has confirmed one images was legitimate, but there was speculation yesterday over the legitimacy of a second, more explicit topless photo.

Digital photography expert David Ewing expressed doubts over the image, in which a woman in fishnet stockings resembling Jess bares her breasts.

"You can see in higher contrast areas such as around her chin that it's grainier than the first picture," Mr Ewing, an Australian College QED lecturer, told ninemsn.

"[This could mean] they were taken in different locations with different equipment, or it's been repeatedly opened and closed and possibly edited."
