The organisers of the international carnival for 10 to 14-year-olds got more than they bargained for after booking hardcore local band Missing Andy.
Organisers claimed the children, many clutching teddy bears, sat stunned with their mouths open as lead singer Alex Greaves called them "m********** c****".
"As soon as the group walked on stage I thought, 'Hang on, these lads look a bit hardcore for a Scout sing-song,'" The Sun quoted a scout leader as saying.
"At the end of their set the lead singer lost it … he started moving his hips against the mike like he was simulating sex."
Shocked organisers reportedly hauled the group off stage and escorted them from the site without payment.
It was a wild end to the jamboree, which earlier featured more child-friendly activities such as finger painting and zoo trips.
"My son has asked me to explain the definitions of some of the profanities used on stage," an angry scout's mother said.
But the Essex-based group, which was recently named as NME magazine's number one unsigned band, remained unrepentant.
"The kids loved it, it was only the scout leaders that were a**holes," band keyboardist Pete Brooker told ninemsn.
"They turned off the PA after three songs and dragged us outta of there, but it was only them that had a problem.
"They took it all a bit personally i think.
"[We didn't receive our fee], but we were only gunna get paid 50 quid."
