Peaches Geldof has married a musician from an up-and-coming US band at an infamous Las Vegas wedding chapel.
Notorious bad girl Peaches, the 19-year-old daughter of music legend Sir Bob Geldof, married Max Drummey from Massachusetts band Chester French at the Little White Wedding Chapel last week.
The couple began their whirlwind romance several weeks ago and family members were only told about the wedding plans at the last minute, according to reports.
Just one month ago Peaches was dating musician Faris Badwan, the 21-year-old lead singer of UK band The Horrors.
A statement issued after the wedding has already sparked speculation that the marriage is a sham to drum up publicity for Chester French's first album, due next month.
"'Max's band, Chester French, played at the ITV iTunes festival (in London in June), where Peaches was a co-presenter of the show," it read.
'The acclaimed new Boston band were signed by Pharrell Williams to his label Star Track, a subsidiary of the giant Interscope Label. Their marriage has the full support of their family and friends."
The couple met two years ago, according to the statement. Max, 23, holds a degree in anthropology from Harvard University.
Music bibles Rolling Stone and Spin have already both tipped the Chester French's debut album for major success in 2008.
The Little White Wedding Chapel's Reverend Stephen Fabretti was quoted in the Daily Mail, saying the couple were kissing and hugging during the "standard service".
The drive-through chapel has hosted a number of celebrity weddings, including Britney Spears' brief union with childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004.
Peaches Geldof was last in the headlines in July when she reportedly suffered a suspected drug overdose at her home.
