About 7,000 insurance claims have been lodged in the wake of Sunday's storm, which ravaged parts of northern and western Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Logan and Caboolture.
RACQ Insurance chief executive Bradley Heath estimated claims worth at least $25 million would be lodged.
Mr Heath said his company had received more than 1,500 claims in the first 24 hours after the storm.
"Well over 90 per cent involve damage to homes, with the balance relating to vehicles," Mr Heath said in a statement.
"Claims have involved everything from power outages resulting in the loss of freezer contents to homes where fallen trees have caused major structural and contents damage."
