Kate Ritchie will marry her footballer boyfriend after he proposed to her during a European holiday.

St George Illawarra player Stuart Webb proposed to former Home and Away star Ritchie yesterday, News.com.au reports.

"We've told our families and we're very excited and look forward to celebrating with our families when we get home," Ritchie said.

Ritchie extended her European work trip with Merrick and Rosso to holiday with Webb.

No wedding date has been set but it is unlikely to be before Ritchie's commitments to radio station Nova finish next year.

In the past Ritchie has dated rugby league star Chris Walker and professional skateboarder Corbin Harris.
