Former stripper and Playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith appeared before the US Supreme Court Tuesday, hoping to win a multimillion dollar inheritance case.
The blonde ran the gauntlet of press photographers in a smart suit and sunglasses to enter the Supreme Court which will rule on whether federal courts overrule state courts in dealing with wills and inheritance matters.
She made no comment and did not speak during the hearing.
At the heart of her case, is Smith's marriage to the late J. Howard Marshall, an oil billionaire who was over 60 years her senior when they married in 1994.
Marshall, who appeared publicly besotted with his young amour, died just 14 months after the pair tied the knot. Marshall's son Pierce Marshall is hotly contesting Smith's claim on his father's estate.
The son insists that Marshall left nothing to Smith in his will having showered her with property, gifts and jewelry worth over $US6 million ($8.1 million) while they were married.
The case has reached the US' highest court following a lengthly legal battle in a California state court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in California.
Pierce Marshall has won most of the lower court rulings, prompting the former stripper to appeal to the Supreme Court.
Smith was 26 when she married the Marshall. The Supreme Court is not expected to announce a ruling for several months.
