A Victorian man aged in his 40s has died after suffering an electric shock while working at a farm southeast of Melbourne.
The man touched a truck with its tipper raised at a farm at Grantville on Saturday afternoon. WorkSafe inspectors believe the tipper had made contact with an overhead power line.
He was taken to Melbourne's The Alfred hospital, where he died from his injuries about 10.30pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
WorkSafe spokesman Michael Birt said the man's death was a warning for those working in rural areas.
"Be well aware where power lines are," he said.
The man's death brings the number of Victorian workplace fatalities for 2009 to 27.
