Our new weather site

Click here to leave your feedback

Ninemsn has always provided fast and accurate weather information. Now, with the addition of our new National Nine News weather section, we’ve created one of the most comprehensive weather sites in Australia.

Probably the most useful change is the new seven-day forecast which allows you to properly plan your next weekend … on Monday morning.

Likely conditions, expected maximums and minimums are provided at a national level.

You can also drill down to get your local seven-day forecast. Click on the "more details" button to access detailed information such as rain likelihood, wind direction and UV index.

These local pages also display recent conditions, weather warnings and sun/moon times.

Enter your postcode to get your local weather or use the easy-to-navigate maps to access updates at national, state, district and local level. Use this navigation to tab through the seven-day forecast.

On the weather home page, simply click on the part of Australia you’re interested in and you’ll be shown the local weather conditions. Keep clicking to zoom in.

The weather radar shows rainfall across the area you’re perusing. Use the radar controls to customize the view. Click on the satellite links to see the movement of cloud across the region, the nation, state or district. You can even check out the current conditions in New Zealand.

Surfers and skiers are catered for with our new surf and snow/ski sections. Skiers can check out the snow, road and weather conditions at all Australian resorts. They can also see lift status at their favourite ski fields.

Surfers get a five-day forecast with swell size and wind direction.

A comprehensive marine section gives anglers and sailors wind, tide, pressure and rainfall information.

Serious weather buffs should be able to find something to their liking in the climate analysis and computer model sections. That’s where the charts, climatology and sea temperature anomalies live.

After all, someone has to know the difference between the NINO3.4 and SOI indices.

Powered by the Weather Company, the site has been designed so you can find what you need at a glance or dig as deep as you desire. Hope you enjoy it.

Let us know what you think.

please add the tide times 4 SEQLD it would b absolutely fantastic. Great page by the way
Indeed, congratulations on the new weather page(s).
Why is there so little mention of LPG in the talk of future petrol prices? Australia has enormous reserves of LPG(even after "giving" a lot away in exports)and its local price should not be influenced by overseas markets. In years past LPG was burned off at the refinery as a waste product. It is now a valuable asset. Governments should assist and encourage more vehicle owners to convert to LPG,assist local manufacture of conversion kits and assist service stations to install LPG tanks and pumps
The UV index needs to be available daily in the main weather forecast please. It is available from the ARPANSA website so please include it so I have all the facts at the one page. Thanks Dr Teri O'Brien, D.Sc. Tericati

Great idea to update your weathersite. The weather is always changing and good to see your changing also.
Dear Andrew, Its a great new service, this will make it so much easier for me, I often go to www.bom.au and log into radar to see the rain pattern, great when venturing outside like today, I was more prepared for the downpour. Best thing since sliced bread.
