An Italian TV prankster has caused a security scare after trying to grab David Beckham's genitals during a media interview.
Footage shows Elena Di Cioccio reaching down with a gloved hand to "cup" Beckham's crotch as the soccer star spoke to a small press pack in Milan on Wednesday.
Beckham is visibly shocked by the incident.
His security team led him away from the scene immediately afterwards and blocked attempts by Cioccio to speak with the 34-year-old star.
"I touched it but it's small," Cioccio said after the incident.
"David you have conned us all … what did you use, cotton wool?
"It's all a trick."
The stunt was part of a skit for the Italian TV show Le Iene (The Hyenas).
Cioccio told viewers of the program she planned to find out if the "bulge" in Beckham's Armani pants advertisements was real.
"Off the pitch we have seen fascinating photographs of David Beckham in his underpants and seemingly very well endowed and even his wife says that he is well equipped and calls him Golden Balls," she said.
"Well the image may have slipped slightly as he has been replaced in the Armani campaign by a younger footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo.
"But we wanted to find out if he was as well endowed as the pictures suggest or if they were touched up."
Beckham has not commented on the incident.
