Biggest Loser trainer, Jillian Michaels is being sued in a class action lawsuit which alleges her line of fat burning pills contains "potentially lethal" ingredients.

The lawsuit is the third time Michaels, who is a trainer on the US version of the Biggest Loser, has been taken to court over the pills, TMZ.com reports.

The latest legal claim, filed in the L.A. County Superior Court, alleges Michaels "sold her proverbial soul to the devil" by putting her name to the "Jillian Michael Maximum Strength Fat Burner".

Kathy Hensley, who filed the lawsuit, claims Michaels and the two companies who make the pills — Thin Care and Basic Research — failed to disclose the pill contained ingredients that combined to make a "toxic cocktail".

According to Hensley, one of the fat burner's ingredients — citrus aurantium — is "potentially lethal" and can cause high blood pressure and heart problems for some people.

The class action claim is suing Michaels and the companies at damages capped at A$5.5million.

The other two lawsuits against Michaels involve the trainer's "calorie control" product.

Two women have launched separate claims against Michaels for false advertising after allegedly taking the calorie control pills and failing to experience any loss of appetite or weight loss.

Michaels has previously fired back at the false advertising claims, saying she stands by her products.

"My reputation and credibility are of the utmost importance to me," Michaels was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

"This baseless lawsuit is entirely without merit and is being handled by my legal team."
