A British TV sports presenter has been forced to edit her Twitter page after her tweets were deemed too raunchy by her bosses.

Sky Sports News presenter Chloe Everton built up a legion of followers thanks to risque, innuendo-filled tweets on sport happenings, but was ordered to remove them by chiefs from the network, The Sun reports.

Everton used the social networking site to inform her 2000 followers that she was "still in bed, not seen any action, been hoping for a big wicket".

Everton constantly referred to "balls" in tweets about Premier League football games before the Twitter clampdown.

"It was all a bit of fun but some people high up in the company got concerned it presented the station in the wrong image," a Sky insider told The Sun.

"They asked her to take it down after a few complaints were made but most people found it hilarious.

Fans have put up an online petition to keep Everton's Twitter going as well as a Facebook fan page called "I Love Chloe Everton's Twitter".

Sky has remained silent on the issue.
