Pete Doherty has been arrested on suspicion of supplying heiress Robyn Whitehead with the drugs that killed her, according to reports.
The Sun reported that the 31-year-old Babyshambles rocker has attended a police station and faced questioning over the death.
The body of the 27-year-old filmmaker, who was part of the wealthy Goldsmith family, was discovered at a unit in east London in late January.
The cause of death has not been officially confirmed, but UK newspapers have reported that she overdosed on heroin, crack cocaine and Valium.
Police reportedly believe that Doherty was at the property before her death, and had left behind a stash of drugs.
Musician Alan Wass, 28, has also been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs to the heiress.
The unit's owner Gill Samworth, 53, and Doherty's friend Peter Wolfe, 41, who found the body, have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert justice.
Whitehead, who was a close friend of Doherty's, directed a documentary on his band The Libertines.
She had allegedly filmed Doherty, 31, and others using heroin and crack cocaine in her unit.
She was the granddaughter of the late Teddy Goldsmith, whose billionaire brother Sir James Goldsmith founded The Ecologist magazine and the Ecology Party, which later became the Green Party.
