It might be a half-baked idea but Aussie rocker Orianthi wants to try something different with her music.
Having jammed with some of the best in the business, she's now thinking of using her skills in the kitchen.
"I was sort of thinking about doing some mini cooking things on YouTube - like a musical cooking thing," the 25-year-old Adelaide singer and musician tells AAP on Friday, only half joking.
"I'd cook and then as I'm waiting for it to bake in the oven I'd play a few songs and then I'll go back and check on it.
"(If it's) not quite ready yet, I'd play another song."
After a number one hit with her single According to You, Orianthi is supporting star John Mayer on his Australian tour.
And given her success so far - she first picked up a guitar at the age of six and has already played with Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, Steve Vai and Prince - she won't be getting a chance to experiment with her culinary creations any time soon.
In-demand in Australia, the US and Japan following the smash hit success of her single from her Believe album, Orianthi has her fans to think of - and maybe one day cook for.
"I bring cookies and vegan cupcakes to rehearsals ... I should probably sell my cookies at the merch (merchandise) booth," she laughs.
Orianthi, whose full name is Orianthi Panagaris, was catapulted to fame thanks to her appearance in the Michael Jackson movie This Is It and her performance with Carrie Underwood at the 2009 Grammys.
It may seem like Orianthi has become an overnight international success - According to You reached three in the US pop charts - but it's been a lot of hard work, she says.
"I think a lot of people get the idea that you move over to LA, you get signed, release a song and then it's red carpets all the way - but no," the US-based singer says.
"It's definitely a very long process - we took three years to make the record.
"It's all about working your butt off and working some more and loving it."
For now, Orianthi's looking forward to playing for her fans back in Australia over the next fortnight - and particularly to her hometown gig in Adelaide on Sunday night.
Usually just "a whole bunch of excitement" before a gig, Orianthi admits the nerves may be getting to her with so many family and friends in the audience.
"I probably will (get nervous), I'm not going to lie," she says.
"But having all that support in the audience and people coming to see you - it's just super cool."
Orianthi will release Believe Again on May 28 - it will contain some tracks from Believe but also five new tracks.
