Masterchef judge Matt Preston is piling on the kilos — but Ten Network executives have banned him from losing weight with Jenny Craig because of conflicts with the popular food show.
Instead, Preston has been told he can lose weight with the help of Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges, the Sunday Telegraph reports.
Ten said Jenny Craig "did not fit well with the Masterchef brand" — stamping out Preston's goal of becoming the next Magda Szubanski and losing 30kg.
Preston and his management will meet with Ten Network executives to discuss his contract this week.
The vivacious foodie has reportedly been tucking in on-set between takes on Masterchef with one source saying Preston ate 11 servings of bone marrow risotto in one sitting.
A Ten spokesperson said the channel did not comment on its star's contracts.
Preston has been criticised for his outlandish performances on this year's Masterchef.
The program's online forum was hit with posts from angry fans over a stunt by Preston in which he threw a pasta dish cooked by contestant Aaron Harvie onto the ground, smashing the plate, only to declare it "disgustingly good".
"I used to think Matt was super. Aloof, handsome, tall and dark, well dressed and above all professional ... but after throwing Aaron's food on the floor the gloss has most definitely worn off for me," one viewer wrote.
"What a CRINGE moment! Something he, his fans and the other contestants will want to forget ASAP."
"The question is ....who cleaned it up ??? Certainly not Matt Preston. His ego is over-inflated. The antics of the judges have ruined the show, just like they did on Idol," another said.
