Big Brother housemate Katie hadn't been out of the house 24 hours before she met the 'in-laws'.
Leaving her boyfriend Jamie behind in the Gold Coast compound, Katie knew she would have to face the 22-year-old's family without her new beau.
The lovebirds were up against each other for elimination.
"I was so nervous," the 20-year-old said.
"I met his whole family and I spoke to his mum last night.
"I thought she would hate me because she is a very proper British lady and I am so Australian, but she has invited me over for dinner so that's awesome."
Jamie and Katie hit it off immediately in the house and embarked on a romantic relationship.
Now outside, Katie says Jamie's the one.
"I said to him 'dude, this is fate'," the 20-year-old says.
Both are from Western Australia and shared the same boss while working as promotional models before entering the house.
"It's so corny, but I have never felt this way about anyone and I think I am in love," Katie says.
Katie says her past relationships have been flings, but things have clicked with Jamie and she's hoping their relationship will continue once he's evicted.
"We are just going to do what we did in the house and go with the flow," she says.
Katie met with the show's psychologist after being eliminated.
She told Katie the pair, who married in a fake ceremony in the house and have only known each a little over nine weeks, acted like they had been together for eight months.
"It was intense in the house because we were so deep and I didn't even talk deep with my mates before I went in the house," Katie says.
"I was a party animal who just had good times, but Jamie got the deep stuff out of me a lot."
Asked if she's afraid Jamie might stray now she's gone, Katie says she hopes not.
"I think I have gotten over the 'what if he does something?' thing," she says.
"I almost wouldn't care if he kissed Krystal. But I would give him a backhand on the outside if he did, and then wouldn't think twice about it."
Three new intruders - student Darren, 19, make-up artist Lauren, 22, and 39-year-old real estate agent Perry - will enter the house on Wednesday.
Perry is the oldest contestant to participate in Big Brother since the show's Australian debut six years ago.
