Tackling a live news cross will get most journalists sweating.
But for a CNN reporter experiencing a "contact high" during a story on the legalisation of marijuana in the US state of Colorado, everything just suddenly became "really funny".
Randi Kaye had spent the day with pot smokers in Colorado to find out how things had changed in the state since marijuana sales were legalised on January 1.
By the time she had to chat live on air with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper last night, for the network’s latest instalment of its 'Gone To Pot' series, it seemed she had had a little bit too much fun on the job.
"We did extensive research, I can tell you. My brain was a little fuzzy by the time I got out of there," a grinning Kaye tells Cooper.
Kaye said that in her haze she even forgot what questions she wanted to ask her interview subjects but tried to reassure Cooper that she only suffered "a contact high".
Of course, Kaye is not the first reporter to suffer an awkward on air moment.
