First the Ukrainian TV host was shooed off stage by Jennifer Lopez after trying to grab the microphone at the Grammys.
Then he was arrested for trespassing and spent the night in jail.
Now Vitalii Sediuk wants people to know he is "not a crazy guy — I just think differently."
The celebrity prankster has spoken about sneaking into a second-row seat at the music awards show — without a ticket or even media credentials — before making a snap decision to jump up on stage and try to accept an award on behalf of Adele.
Sediuk, who gained some infamy last year after getting slapped by Will Smith on a red carpet, told The Hollywood Reporter he weaseled his way into the Staples Center in Los Angeles two nights ago with friends who had tickets.
"First I went to the media line and interviewed quite a few celebrities, like Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman," he said.
"Then I just followed one girl in a green dress through the [Staples Center] gates.
After being told the show was about to begin, Sediuk said he found an empty seat in the second row near Sting, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.
The TV host claimed he had no plans to mount the Grammys stage and the idea only came to him at the "last second".
"To be honest, Adele is my favourite singer. So when I heard her name [announced as the winner for Best Pop Solo performance], I came up with this idea to go up on the stage," he said.
"I pretended this was an award for me and then I said, 'Thank you, Adele. You're my inspiration.'"
The moment was short-lived.
Lopez pulled Sediuk away from the microphone and gestured him offstage with a flick of her thumb.
Seduik was detained by security backstage before police came to arrest him.
He faces court next month.
Last year the prankster was slapped in the face by Will Smith when he tried to surprise the actor with a kiss on the lips outside the Moscow premiere of Men In Black 3.
