The cast members from the popular comedy ‘Modern Family’ took videos, photos and tweeted about their situation while they were stuck in an elevator for nearly an hour.

Three stars from TV comedy series Modern Family made light of a tight situation when they became trapped in a crowded elevator for nearly an hour yesterday.

Actors Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson began posting photos and videos online of themselves pleading "Get us out" while stuck in the lift on the third floor of the Kansas City hotel.

The trio were trapped with 12 other people while en route to a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, The Kansas City Star reported.

After they were freed, the actors praised the firefighters who had to work down from the 40th floor to free those in the elevator.

"Finally made it out of the stuck elevator at the one hour mark," Ferguson tweeted.

"At least the firemen in K.C. are cute."

Many people at the fundraiser reportedly thought the emcee was joking when he first said the program for the night was delayed because its headline stars were trapped in an elevator.

The incident has sparked speculation that the stars' elevator footage could be used in an episode of the show.
