April 29, 2013: Australia's Got Talent newcomer Geri Halliwell impersonates fellow Spice Girl Mel B in explaining her involvement with the revamped TV program.

Geri Halliwell has been named as the fourth and final judge on Australia's Got Talent, replacing her fellow former Spice Girl Mel B.

Halliwell will join Dawn French, Timomatic and Kyle Sandilands on the judging panel.

In an exclusive interview, she told A Current Affair she was "excited" to start work.

"Shows like that are brilliant and I love the opportunity they give to normal, everyday people," she said.

"Plus, I get to come to Australia."

She said Mel B, who was unable to work on the show after a judge ruled she was still locked into a contract with the Seven Network, was happy for her.

"She actually said, 'I just want you to know I think you should do it cause you're gonna have a great time'," Halliwell said, impersonating her friend.

Halliwell, who was known as Ginger Spice in her Spice Girls days, said she didn't plan on being a "mean" judge.

"I think it's unnecessary to be mean for the sake of being mean, but I do believe you have to be truthful, but with love," she said.

"Do you know what I think about Australians? … you've got to fight for your place in the big world and so that makes your talent even better and for that reason Australia I can't wait to come."

She said she was looking forward to living in Australia and particularly liked Australia's good-looking men, especially Eric Bana.

"I hope his wife doesn't mind me saying I think he's incredibly talented and a very attractive man," she said.

She said her daughter would be joining her in Australia.
