The Sunshine Coast teen rumoured to be dating Bindi Irwin has deleted the social media account on which he claimed she was his.
Bailey "Bazz" Lancaster had used Instagram to document the blossoming love but yesterday deleted his account after a women's magazine named him.
The move was unusually shy for the schoolboy, who in September declared to the wildlife warrior's 46,000 followers that they were an item.
"Mine. Back off boys. Getting pretty jelly [jealous]," he wrote on a photo of the 15-year-old on September 28.
Two days later he wrote, "Back off boys she's #mine" and when a follower asked if the pair were dating or just friends, he replied "You betcha buddy. Dating it up date style".
His comments have since been deleted along with his account, which featured a photo of the supposed couple.
The Irwin family's personal assistant said he was not aware of Bindi being in a relationship but she did have "lots of friends".
Bindi, who refers to Bazz as her "best friend" on Instagram, is currently overseas and could not be reached for comment.
New Idea reported the pair's parents had met and would soon publish photos of Bindi, mum Terri and Bazz's father.
