A former Miss USA and soap opera actress has quit the mainstream to become a porn star.

Kelli McCarty, who won the prestigious beauty pageant competing as Miss Kansas in 1991, has made the transition from mainstream modelling and acting to hardcore adult films.

McCarty, 39, spent seven years on the long-running daytime drama Passions playing jilted lover Beth Wallace.

She was killed off from the supernatural soap in a train explosion in 2006.

McCarty also made guest appearances on popular children's programs That's So Raven, Even Stevens and Phil of the Future on the Disney network.

Her first adult feature, titled Faithless: From Beauty Queen to Porn Queen, will be released next month.

After winning the title of Miss USA, McCarty finished sixth overall in the 1991 Miss Universe competition.
