The foulmouthed contestants on the upcoming Australian version of Ladette to Lady have been labelled the cheekiest and rudest in the show's history.

The controversial reality show features eight outrageously behaved "ladettes", who — in the first episode seen by ninemsn — are shown almost getting arrested on the flight to London's Heathrow Airport.

The ladettes are later caught urinating on the side of the road, binge-drinking, vomiting and offering to strip at the local pub.

Check out the contestants here.

The show's cookery teacher, Rosemary Shrager, told ninemsn the Aussie girls were "fighters".

"They wanted to change but on the other hand they wanted to fight it all the way," she said.

"It was mainly the swearing that was the issue with the girls and the rudeness in a very cheeky way, they were cheekier than the Brits."

The show has already attracted criticism from psychologists who say it is likely to do the troubled contestants more harm than good.

What do you think of the show? Is it cruel or helpful? Share your thoughts below.

"I would be very surprised if the show did help these contestants become so-called ladies," psychologist Sally-Anne McCormack told ninemsn.

McCormack criticised scenes from the show such as one in which 21-year-old Queensland delinquent and alcoholic Skye Harper is forced to man a bar at a cocktail party.

"I think it's terrible, it's just cruel TV," McCormack said.

"Something like that would be traumatic for her and I don't see any benefit in it."

Without long-term support there was the potential for the contestants to become depressed and resort to even more inappropriate behaviour, she said.

But Shrager defended the show, saying the series had achieved an "amazing" amount of success.

"Each one had their own major problems but we certainly broke through with some of them," she said.

"The proof will be in the pudding as to whether they are ladies or not if you see how they are behaving now."

I refuse to watch garbage like this. I grew up in Western Sydney and saw enough of this type of behaviour. They're just *** looking for some notoriety and a quick buck! There are better things to watch on TV.
Typical psychologist! God forbid we make someone take responsibility for their own actions. That's how Australia got the way it is. It's never my fault if I stuff up it is my parents or school or someone else never me. And I am too damaged and precious to fix myself so the government should fix my life. aaarrgh! I really loathe that profession! I quite like the show though and I think it shows how society has slackened off in general about manners or maybe it's just some families.
Australia is mostly a land of thugs and brutes and the trashy tarts who love them. And I'm sick of seeing tattoos on everyone here! The overwhelming majority of Australians are boguns or just plain feral.
I just gotta say that there is nothing more unattractive than a women who urinates in the street, swears, and just has a general bad attitute and lack of class. These people aren't ladettes...they're ferals!! It doesn't bode well for us single fellas if this is what we have to put up with!!!
One of the many reasons why I would never date an Australian woman. Mind you, the tradies love them! No class!
who do you think you are for trashing the girls on this show at least they are doing something about it. So keep your trash talk to yourself. l've worked in the hotels and these girls have nothing on the upper class they are just as bad so how dare you single out these girls so dont speak until you see the other side of the fence. NOT HAPPY WITH THE BAD COMMENTS ON THIS!!!!!
My best friend went on this show and it is a brilliant insight .
congratulations girls you have just shown why more an more aussie males are seeking partners from anywhere but australia thats why my partner is a new zealander
I for one do not watch the tv show, in fact I rarely watch tv at all. To be a lady comes from within, from one's desire to be socially accepted, for others it comes naturally. If these women did carry out the alleged acts mentioned in article then that shows a complete disregard for themselves as a person least of all a 'ladette'. I don't claim to be a lady but I know at least I have 'social skills' when I venture out into public and at same time I avoid the airs and graces as they are way too fake! The ladettes need a reality check and to sit down and watch their behaviour and really think about what they actually DO want.. a bad name or be known as a 'classy ladette' ?
Foul mouths & *** behaviour aside, why do any women need to conform to an expectation of subservience?
