Loved-up couple Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom couldn't hide their affection at the David Jones autumn runway show, with the Hollywood star blowing kisses to his supermodel girlfriend from the front row.

Sporting an unfashionable mullet for his latest film role, the Lord Of The Rings actor didn't take his eyes off Kerr as she led a bevy of beauties down the catwalk in Sydney to show off the coming season's fashions.

Bloom winked, smiled and blew kisses at Kerr, and enthusiastically mouthed the words to You Give Me Fever, while the 25-year-old beamed at him every time she sashayed past in outfits by Lisa Ho, Alex Perry and Sass and Bide.

Happy to let Kerr steal the spotlight, the English actor disappeared as soon as parade at the Hordern Pavilion was over.

"He's gone home," Kerr told photographers hoping to get a picture of the two together.

"He just came to see me, not you."

While she said Bloom's trip Down Under was "a nice surprise", Kerr laughed off suggestions he might pop the question this Valentines Day.

"Oh don't be silly," she said.

"I'm not a girl that expects much, I'm happy with where I'm at."

David Jones traded its usual evening soiree for a more understated morning affair for this year's Autumn/Winter show, and started proceedings by remembering the victims of the Victoria bushfires.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of those who have lost their lives, our compassion goes out to those that are injured and homeless, and we pray for strength and courage for those that are still defending lives and defending property," David Jones' Colette Garnsey said.

The company has made a $500,000 donation to Red Cross and have pledged the profits from all sales across the country on Thursday to help the bushfire victims.

In the front row at the show were celebrities including Lara Bingle, Jodhi Meares, Kate Waterhouse, Justin Hemmes, Jessica Rowe and Megan Gale who took note of the latest designs by Willow, Zimmerman, Alannah Hill, Collette Dinnigan and Scanlan and Theodore.

Black, white, silver and grey were the dominant colours, along with splashes of emerald green, burnt orange, bright red, and navy.

Metallic detailing, layering, coloured tights and boots were also popular.

Kerr said just a few key pieces were needed to look good as the weather turns cold.

"My tips are to stick to the basics," she said.

"A great black blazer is a definite must, a beautiful pair of boots you can wear throughout winter, and a nice floaty dress."
