Rihanna 'won't press charges against Brown'

Pop star Rihanna has reportedly refused to help police with their investigations into her alleged beating by boyfriend Chris Brown.

The 21-year-old has told police she does not want to press charges against R&B singer Brown amid reports the pair have reunited, according to The Sun newspaper.

"Rihanna says she doesn’t want to testify against him … she has had a change of heart and doesn’t want the case to proceed," a spokesperson was quoted as saying.

But prosecutors in Los Angeles could decide to proceed with the case against 19-year-old Brown using witnesses accounts and records of what Rihanna initially told police following the alleged assault three weeks ago.

California law allows prosecutors to charge someone with domestic violence, regardless of whether the alleged victim testifies.

They will submit their files to the Los Angeles County District Attorney this week.

A photo of the singer's horrific injuries emerged last month and included bruises to her eyes, nose and cheek and a swollen mouth.

However the couple are reportedly back together and were spotted this week at a Miami residence of fellow R&B star Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
