Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands is reportedly in lockdown with PR managers as he prepares to announce his split from singer and wife Tamara Jaber.

Management teams for the couple are said to be preparing a statement confirming the split which will be released this afternoon, sources say.

A report in Woman's Day magazine, released today, said the split had been an "open secret" amongst friends and quoted Sandilands as saying he and Tamara were "off".

WOMAN'S DAY: Kyle, Tamara split

Sandilands has been living in a hotel room at Star City Casino in Sydney while Jaber has been staying at the couple's lavish $1.9 million home in St Ives in Sydney's northern suburbs.

Calls to Sandilands' management were not returned.

A spokesperson for 2DayFM, the Sydney radio station that hosts the Kyle and Jackie O Show, would not comment on the reports.

The pair were married in September 2008 in a ceremony attended by 400 guests at St Brigid's Church in Marrickville.
