Soon-to-be jailbird Lindsay Lohan either has a magical roving belly button, or the image editors at German GQ have some explaining to do.
Lohan's navel was apparently airbrushed out of the cover shot of the latest issue of the magazine.
In another image within the magazine the belly button appears high on her waist.
Photography blogger Jessica Lum, from Petapixel.com, examined the photos and concluded that something was not quite right.
"It’s likely that Lohan’s belly button looks like it should be somewhere it isn’t because of the camera angle, or perhaps she had a digital tummy trim that threw off the 'normal' proportions of her body," she wrote.
The images, which have been mocked on viral websites, will appear in GQ Germany's August issue.
Meanwhile, the actress has moved to a substance abuse facility and hired celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro to represent her ahead of her incarceration.
Lohan is scheduled to begin serving a 90-day sentence on Tuesday.
Shapiro told The Associated Press on Friday he had agreed to represent Lohan only if she does her jail time and complies with the terms of her probation.
He said he would help the actress get treatment to accomplish long-term recovery and sobriety.
"Ms Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," said Shapiro, whose son Brent died in 2005. "Hopefully I can be of assistance."
