A New York mother claims Lady Gaga copied her trademark fashion sense and singing style from her daughter, a former collaborator of the pop singer who later committed suicide.
Yana Morgana, 41, said Lady Gaga adopted the style about a month after her 19-year-old daughter Lina leapt to her death from a hotel roof, the NY Post reported.
Lina and Lady Gaga allegedly met and collaborated on songs together in early 2007, when the pop star was still known as Stefani Germanotta.
Lina recorded about a dozen songs and developed an outlandish fashion style wearing bikinis, lingerie and large wigs, her mother said.
After her death Germanotta developed the "Lady Gaga" pseudonym and style.

Resisting suggestions she file a lawsuit against Lady Gaga, Morgana's mother is simply seeking the rights to release her daughter's music.
"I'm doing this because I want to keep her spirit alive," she said.
"Lady Gaga is holding Lina's soul, and I want her soul to be free."
Lina’s ex-boyfriend Tyler Schwab said the similarities between her and Gaga are remarkable.
"It was the same style, the same look, the same music, the same voice, the same jaw line," he said.
"It was like looking at a ghost."
