Rock legends AC/DC sold out concerts around the country within minutes when they went on sale on Monday, prompting promoters to claim it was the fastest-selling show ever to hit Australia.
Second and third concerts were being added to their February tour after long queues snapped up the first concerts on offer.
Benny Dunne, 20, summed up the feeling of fans when asked why he was queuing for hours in Brisbane to see a band more than twice his age.
"Cos they're the best f*****g band around," he said.
Many of those who queued, some for more than 24 hours, were buying tickets for family - the hard rockers have crossed the generations.
Janine Black and daughter Tish joined a line of hundreds in Brisbane to pay $150 to see a band Janine has followed for 35 years.
"I used to go to a local pub in Greville Street, Prahran, Melbourne, where they used to perform," she said.
"At that point there was no cover charge, so things have really changed, and I've followed them ever since."
The tickets are worth every cent, Ms Black said. Her daughter, who grew up to the sound of AC/DC, agreed.
Natasha Milovanovic, 32, said she grew up on AC/DC songs like Jailbreak, TNT and For Those About to Rock.
"They're the best rock band in the world," she said.
"My brother has the whole vinyl collection, and you can't go past (support act) Wolfmother," she said.
Robyn Rose, 58, said she had followed the band since she first heard them decades ago.
Just 17, Aaron, who didn't wish to give a surname, said AC/DC's music had always been part of his life, so he wanted to see them live.
The Perth show sold out in just seven minutes, while tickets to two Sydney shows were also snapped up prompting promoters to schedule a third concert.
A second show was added in Brisbane and it is likely more shows will be scheduled across Australia due to the demand.
