Fashion designer John Galliano, who has been suspended from fashion house Dior for allegedly making anti-Semitic insults, was filmed saying he loved Hitler, according to a British newspaper.
In a video posted on The Sun's website, the clearly visible British designer tells a woman at a cafe "I love Hitler" and adds: "People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f***ing gassed."
The Sun said Galliano, 50, was at the same cafe, La Perle, in the trendy Marais district of Paris which is a popular gay spot, where he allegedly assaulted a couple and made anti-Semitic comments last week.
After the remark about Hitler, a woman is heard saying "Oh my God", before asking Galliano - whose speech is slurred - if he has a problem.
He replies: "With you. You're ugly."
Asked where he was from, he says: "Your a***hole."
The newspaper said the group of friends insulted by Gibraltar-born Galliano were French and Italian, but not Jewish.
It is not clear when the video was filmed.
The unnamed man who filmed the outburst told The Sun: "Galliano was sitting alone nursing his drink, when a few of us sat at the next table.
"Galliano kept intruding, throwing in comments about us and what we were saying.
"We knew who he was. He's instantly recognisable.
"We were stunned by what Galliano was saying, but then he started making vile anti-Semitic comments.
"He made it clear the Italian girls weren't welcome and should go home.
"This was pure racism."
Dior suspended the designer last week after the initial allegations. Galliano responded by bringing a suit for "defamation".
