Lawyers for the show Two and a Half Men have denied executives are considering re-employing Charlie Sheen.
Sheen told a US radio station he had an 85 per cent chance of returning to the hit CBS series after "discussions" with program executives, the Herald Sun reports.
But lawyers for Warner Bros. Television said there were no discussions regarding Sheen rejoining the TV series and there never would be.
Lawyers for the show wrote a letter to Sheen's lawyer Marty Singer rejecting the star's statements as "false", ABC News reports.
But Singer said the talks had been held recently.
"There have been discussions as late as Tuesday, and all parties have been involved &mdash Warner Bros., CBS, [producer] Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen," Singer told entertainment site TMZ.
"Sheen did not lie about the discussion," he said.
Singer also accused Warner Bros. of failing to pay Sheen money for his work on the show's seventh season.
Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men in March during the show's eighth season after he criticised producer Lorre.
The drug-troubled star has since started a variety show that has been touring the US to mixed reviews.
