The Chaser team has been left in limbo as to whether all 10 episodes in the current series will go to air.

ABC's Chaser spokesperson Peter Ritchie has confirmed to ninemsn that a meeting between the corporation's management and the comedy team yesterday failed to come up with a decision on whether the show would be cut short.

The ABC has been contracted to broadcast the whole 10-part series, but with the tide of public opinion turning against The Chaser, it may still choose not to air all eight remaining shows after its two-week suspension is up.

"That is something that is still being discussed," Mr Ritchie said.

"We are looking at it very seriously as part of the review process that is taking place."

The ABC will air US satirical comedy series Tracey Ullman's State of the Union in The Chaser's 9pm Wednesday time slot for the next two weeks while it determines how the controversial "Make a Realistic Wish" skit on dying kids was allowed to go to air.

Mr Ritchie said The Chaser would "definitely" still be coming back on air as scheduled on June 24.
